Holiday Traditions

We've been talking a lot about Holiday traditions around the world. While different cultures celebrate Christmas in different ways, the same is true of different families. For example, the tradition in my family is to make a breakfast casserole the day before. On Christmas morning we put it in the oven while we open gifts. After we've finished opening gifts we eat, shower and go to the movies. What are some traditions you have in your family? Tell me about one here.

European Explorers

We have been studying about the European Explorers and their impact in the New World. Each of you studied someone different. Tell me about the explorer you studied. Please include his name, his sponsor, his personal background, his motives, and the impact he had on history. Remember to formulate your answer in complete sentences. As a bonus, you might include your opinion of him. I wonder if you would like this person if you had met him in person. Why or why not?

Sequencing

We've been reading and enjoying The Watsons Go to Birmingham. Choose four events that have occured in the book so far. Sequence the four events here. Don't forget to use transition words like first, next, then, second, finally, etc.

Science - States of Matter

In science you've learned that everything is made up of matter. Matter takes up space and has volume. There are different states of matter. Please name them for me and give three examples of each.

Some of you have blogged before, but for some of you this will be new. Basically, I'll write a note on the blog. You'll read it and make a comment about it. It's that simple.

So, tell me what you think of the idea of blogging. What do you think you'll enjoy about it? Is there anything you won't enjoy? For example, I know that for me it's fun to read your comments. I also use the blog to get grades for each of you. I'll give you a grade for leaving a comment and another grade for the content in your comment.
